On 7th Russian Cinema Week in Iceland

On September 12-26, 2019 the Embassy and Production Center NORFEST with financial support from the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation organized for the seventh time the Russian Cinema Week in Iceland.

The event was one of the final in the celebration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Iceland. Six modern Russian films were shown: “Elephants can play football”, 2018, “Anna's War”, 2018, “Book of the Sea”, 2018, “Happiness is ...”, 2019 , "Coupled", 2018 and
"Papillon", 2017.

In Reykjavik films were traditionally screened at three venues: in "Bio Paradise", the University of Iceland and MÍR-Society.

The number of towns increased this year to seven: in addition to Reykjavik the program covered Ísafjörður, Sauðárkrókur, Siglufjörður, Höfn and two new places - Vopnafjörður and Neskaupstaður.
